She has never been  gimmicky, she has always been officially Grace.  One of the first women I could remember as being a muse for artist, musicians, designers and the like.  Grace Jones has never wavered in her need, her right to be herself.  Prior to Madonna, there was Grace; before Gaga there still is Grace.  In her early 60's she continues to take to the stage entertaining and bringing shock value to every performance, not intentionally but it is who she is, it is what she feels, it is in her being.  

Grace Jones grew up in Jamaica. Her father was a clergyman and politician and strict disciplinarian to his children.  In the 60's the Jones family relocated to New York. Her studies at University had a  focus on theater, but that road detoured into modeling when she was discovered in the city.

We chose Grace Jones as our celebrity Pom-Poms & Armor today because of her individuality and her influence over today's pop artists.  Who is her Pom-Pom?  What is her Armor?
